Pear Tree
In Pear Tree we have a mix of 15 hour and 30 hour children.
Our timings for 15 hours are 9.00am-12.00pm for morning children and 12.45pm-3.45pm for afternoon children.
Our timings for 30 hours are 9.00am-3.45pm Monday-Thursday and 9.00am-12.00pm Friday.
Children learn best when they are having fun, exploring their interests and are engaging with their peers or familiar adults. Adults support the children to have lots of fun whilst they explore the nursery environment safely and with increasing independence.
A typical session will start with a short group time that inspires the learning for the session; children will then have the opportunity to explore messy activities, mark making, sand/water, role-play, construction, small world, creative activities and mathematical activities. These are all supported by our well planned learning areas where children can access the resources that they need to further their learning. They will also spend lots of time in our outdoor environment; where they can develop their gross motor skills as well as developing an interest in the natural world. We see the outside areas as much as a learning environment as the inside areas and are developing learning areas such as the Mud Kitchen, water play, large scale construction, mark making shed, maths shed and reading areas. Throughout the session we have planned phonic sessions and story times.
Children will have fruit and toast as a snack and milk is provided every day. Children who stay all day bring in a lunchbox and lunchtimes happen in the classroom where they eat alongside their friends and lunchtime staff. We encourage all children to bring in a water bottle so that they can access water throughout their session.
