Sunshine Class

We offer both 30 hour and 15-hour sessions: 

15-hour sessions are offered as either 5 morning or 5 afternoon sessions. 

Morning:

Monday–Friday 9:00am — 12:00pm

Afternoon:

Monday-Friday 12:45pm — 3:45pm

30-hour Sessions 

Monday–Thursday 9.00am- 3.45pm and Friday 9.00am- 12.00pm 

Our Sunshine class opened in April 2024 for the youngest children in our setting and welcomes children to New Bridge from the term following their second birthday.  Children in Sunshine class follow a rich curriculum, carefully planned and delivered by qualified teachers and a strong team of Early Years professionals and Nurture Assistants, as children start their learning journey here at our nursery school.

The children follow a familiar daily routine, which supports their smooth transition to nursery, combining carefully structured short group times with exciting outdoor activities and free flow indoor learning.  Books and stories are central to our curriculum and routines, with key themes from familiar texts being woven into the children's experiences and activities.  These themes encourage children to gain excitement from books and stories, fostering a love of learning whilst exploring their emotions and developing their understanding of the world around them.  The Sunshine classroom is well-equipped with sand and water areas, a home corner, games, puzzles, construction toys, dough and creative mark-making materials.  Children delight in making their own play dough and mixing their own paints.  Familiar adults support the children with their play, encouraging their language development and providing inspiring creative learning experiences where independence is nurtured.

At the end of their time in Sunshine class, children are automatically moved up to our Rainbow class for 3 and 4 year olds.
